Cluster flies on windowsillCluster flies look like large house flies. They will typically enter your house, looking for a place to hibernate over the winter. Cluster Flies will get inside through cracks and crevices, and end up in the wall voids around doors and windows, as well as in the attic. If you have a bad Cluster Fly problem, they can invade your home by the hundreds or thousands. A Cluster Fly infestation can also lead to other insect problems due to the number of flies that die inside the house. They can also create a mess on a daily basis inside the house when they die in the living space, and because of droppings that they leave on surfaces.

Cluster Fly treatments are performed twice per year on an annual basis in August and September. We generally start in the Bruce Crossing area mid-August, and move north from there. The Cluster Fly treatment plan includes two treatments to the exterior of the building, covering parts of the roof all the way down to the foundation. The chemical we use for the treatment lasts about 25 days, so we strongly recommend a second treatment in September to ensure that your home is protected from flies for the duration of the season when Cluster Flies are active.

The Cluster Fly treatment will kill the majority of flies the come into contact with the chemical. We typically see an 80-90% reduction in Cluster Flies after treatment. This means customers spend less time vacuuming up dead flies, and better sanitation in the house overall.

Typically, this treatment needs to be done every year. We keep all our customers on an annual list and check in every year to ensure continued coverage.
